Vast, remote and serene, the Lapalala Wilderness in South Africa, only 3 hours’ drive or 1 hour’s flight from Johannesburg, makes this one of the shortest distances to a wilderness experience in Africa. One that awakens the senses with its deep valleys and spectacular cliffs echoing to the sound of tumbling streams.
Lepogo Lodges have been created as a not for profit venture, one of the few lodges globally giving 100% of any financial gains back into the reserve for the benefit of wildlife, local community and future generations. Cheetah reintroduction and preservation is a priority for the owners and foremost in their personal conservation goals. The name Lepogo is derived from the Sotho for Cheetah, and with the camp nestled in the heart of the malaria free Lapalala Game Reserve it offers an exquisite base from which to explore the 45,000 hectares of pure African wilderness.
Lepogo, will consist of 2 separate lodges, Noka Camp and Melote House. Noka Camp will be the first to open in September 2019, set on an astonishing 100ft cliff top with breath-taking views overlooking the winding Palala River. Each of the luxury star bed lodges are solar powered and encourage complete tranquility with un-compromised luxury. At night the sky bed experience provides for one of the most romantic settings imaginable, choosing to either sleep outside under the stars or inside your lodge in unparalleled luxury.
Each room has its own heated plunge pool built into the platform on top of the cliff, taking the infinity pool concept to a new level.
An exquisite menu, full of flavour has been created by first class chefs using local produce where possible and complimented by fine wine from the cellar. Dining options include the main veranda, tree top platform or the exclusivity of your room each with breath-taking views from above.
