Celebrating “World Lion Day 2024” This day was established to spotlight the critical challenges lions face and to encourage more support for their protection.

Today, these majestic creatures are at the brink of extinction, with their numbers dwindling rapidly due to habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Studies predict that unless we act now, African lions could be extinct in the wild by 2050. Together we can raise awareness and fight for the survival of these iconic animals.

I am so lucky to be able to enjoy these incredible animals so regularly on my travels and I am always learning something new. I have selected some lovely pics for you to enjoy !!

Karisia Walking Safaris and Tumaren Camp are located Eastern Laikipia, an area north of
MT. Kenya, known for its spectacular Wilderness and Wildlife and they have an area of 16,000 acres to explore.

Tumaren was once ranch land used for livestock, and at the time, the land was not able to support huge numbers of wildlife as the cattle had always taken the best grass leaving little for the game. Kerry and James have dedicated themselves to the conservation of wildlife, so despite the work ahead, the beauty of the place captured them and after only a few years, the wildlife began a steady rebound. Plains game have increased hugely and reticulated giraffe, oryx and eland come in large herds. The predators also began appearing more and more and the elephant herds that once just passed through, began stopping for longer, eventually making Tumaren a preferred area for giving birth to their young.

Tumaren camp overlooks a salt lick, which attracts much of Laikipia’s large game. The camp offers seven spacious sleeping tents and lots of areas for relaxing and watching life at the watering hole with stunning views around.

After having the most wonderful few days earlier this year with @karisiawalkingsafaris and @tumaren_camp on our educational trip there, I am so very delighted to welcome them to the collection of truly incredible places and people, we are so proud to work with.

It really is a perfect compliment to our existing clients, especially those in Kenya, creating a very special collection of independent, privately owned camps, which can also be combined into a very brilliant itinerary.

As I have always said, it really is ALL about the people and I am really thrilled to be working with Kerry and James and their wonderful team to represent them here in Europe.
