Enduata Safari Camps is a company rooted in connection to people, to place, and to the steady rhythms of the wild. Founded by Matt, a British safari traveller and hospitality specialist, and Michael, a Tanzanian guide with more than thirteen years of experience in the Serengeti, the company is built on a shared belief in authentic, community minded, low impact travel.

Their first camp, Wakati, opens in late 2025 in the eastern reaches of the Central Serengeti. Set along a quiet wildlife corridor between Moru and Ndutu, it offers an exciting safari experience that brings guests close to nature and culture without the crowds.

Meet the Owners

Matt’s love of safari began as a child on family holidays and grew stronger each time he returned to Africa. Over the years he dreamed of creating a place where others could experience that same sense of wonder. With a background in hospitality and a passion for food and wine, his vision was clear: a camp where every moment feels thoughtful, comfortable, and connected to the land.

Michael, born and raised in Tanzania, has spent more than thirteen years guiding in the Serengeti with some of East Africa’s most respected safari companies. His knowledge of the region is extensive, and his calm presence and dedication to guiding set him apart.

When Matt and Michael met, their ideas aligned and Enduata Safari Camps took shape. Together, they bring complementary strengths and a shared belief in safaris that support communities, protect wildlife, and offer guests something genuinely meaningful.

Explore & Experience

Wakati Camp offers an immersive safari shaped to each guest’s pace and interests. Mornings may begin with a gentle walk or a game drive following fresh lion tracks, while afternoons invite time to rest, swim, or share stories in the shade.

Activities include game drives with experienced Tanzanian guides, bush walks, birdwatching, day trips to granite kopjes and seasonal migration areas, and visits to neighbouring Maasai communities. Evenings bring campfire dinners and sundowners beneath wide open skies. Families can join the Enduata Explorers Programme, designed to engage children with nature and culture in a fun and thoughtful way.

At Wakati, safari feels unhurried, personal, and deeply connected to the land.

WHY WE LOVE IT?

Wakati has a quiet charm that is hard to find. It is a place where the landscape, the pace, and the people come together in a way that feels honest and very real. Days unfold gently, with time for coffee by the fire, unhurried conversations with your guide, and long walks that reveal the character of the Serengeti.
with you.

Wakati marks the beginning of a meaningful new chapter, and we are glad to be part of the journey.

Accommodation

Wakati’s tents are designed for comfort without excess, keeping the magic of sleeping under canvas while offering the considered touches that make a stay feel special. Each ensuite tent includes flushing toilets, traditional hot bucket showers, emperor or twin beds with soft linens, charging points for UK and EU plugs as well as USB, hairdryers, safes, and a private veranda with generous views.

Two large family tents, each seventy two square metres, offer flexible room layouts and a shared lounge, making them ideal for families or multi generational groups.

The entire camp runs off grid on solar power, and the central mess area provides a warm, open space for dining, drinks, and relaxing between activities.

Stay with Purpose

At the core of Enduata Camps is a commitment to meaningful local impact. The camp works closely with neighbouring Maasai communities through fair employment, guide training, and the support of locally owned enterprise. Revenue from guest stays contributes to habitat protection and wildlife monitoring along an important migration corridor, as well as anti poaching patrols and mobile ranger support.

Enduata also helps improve access to clean water for nearby villages and supports small scale conservation education programmes that encourage future custodians of the land. The camp’s light footprint and off grid systems reflect a thoughtful environmental ethic, and the Enduata Explorers Programme inspires children to connect with nature.

Every stay at Wakati supports the Serengeti and the people who care for it.
